For each one, the child picks an illustration of good or bad practice - from sorting rubbish to cycling instead of driving. It works well in schools, nurseries, recycling centres and environmental education centres.

It all starts at the board: the child stands in front of it, searches for details, compares pictures and plays the games described next to the graphics. Where did the idea of putting a board like this in a garden instead of a classroom come from? The magnetic educational board is a young teaching invention, and its magnets were developed in line with the pedagogy of Maria Montessori, who recommended realistic pictures and self-correction of errors - the child places a piece, looks at the board and sees for themselves whether it fits. Lessons move into the fresh air, and the material stays the same.
For these activities to continue for years, the board has to withstand every kind of weather: rain, frost and sun. The frame is steel, galvanised and powder-coated, and the print is protected by a UV-resistant varnish, so the graphic does not fade after a season in full sun and is not damaged by moisture. The equipment has a declaration of conformity and a certificate from an accredited body, stays outdoors all year round and is covered by a warranty. The manufacturer is EduPlayground, and the board is made in Poland.
The board is wide enough for several children to stand at it at once, and in the double-sided version groups work on both sides of the frame. One points, another answers, a third adds a piece - the task is solved through conversation, not in silence.
The tasks on the board are about finding details, comparing and spotting differences. The board stays in the same place, so the child looks back at it as many times as they need - and practises concentration and careful looking along the way.
The board stands ready: there is no need to set it up, carry it out of the classroom or put it away after lessons. Children come up to it on their own - at break, while waiting to be collected by a parent or during free play in the garden - and play whatever they see on the panel.
Five elements common to every board: two form the working surface, and three hold it upright in the ground.
The surface with graphics sets the lesson topic: you choose it from the available designs or order it as your own design, prepared for the setting's curriculum. The structure underneath stays the same, so installation looks the same whatever the topic.
The whole surface is steel, so a magnet holds anywhere on it.
The same frame takes one panel or two, one on each side. In the double-sided version, one structure handles two topics at once, and children work on both sides - the same equipment and the same spot in the playground, twice the content.
The board's height is set with the fixing bolts: lower where nursery children use it, higher where older pupils do. The setting can also be changed later, when the board moves to another group.
The board stands on galvanised steel anchors set in the ground and concreted in, and joined to the equipment with bolts. The frame does not wobble when children lean on the board, and it stays in its set place.
Personalisation
Ready-made panel designs do not always cover the topic your setting is working on. Personalisation does not change the board's construction or installation method, only its look and the content visible on the panel.
The board graphics are designed to order, on a chosen theme: an original curriculum, the setting's patron, an ecology project or a map of the local area.
The scope of the design, the layout of the content and the tasks to go on the board are agreed with an adviser.
The colour of the frame can be adapted to order - a frequent request. The scope of the change is agreed with an adviser. Standard colour according to the product data sheet: green (RAL 6018).
Versions
Every educational board is ordered with a single-sided or double-sided sticker.

Each board topic is ordered in one of two versions. In the double-sided version, the sticker covers both sides of the board, so there is a full activity panel at the front and back. In the single-sided version, the sticker covers one side, and the other is left without a sticker.
