S07-EB12 Educational Board with Magnetic Marble Race Track - Ecolife - Single-Sided
The Ecolife marble race track board gives the child a task with a goal: the marble has to reach an environmentally friendly action, not simply drop to the bottom of the board. The route is built from magnetic wooden tracks placed against a steel surface. It works in schools, education centres and holiday resorts.
A route that ends in an action for the environment
Before the marble reaches its goal, a few things have to be settled: how steep to set the first section so it picks up speed, and how to lay out the next ones so friction does not stop it halfway down the board. Gravity, friction and motion can then be seen in every run of the marble. The conversation about which everyday choices help the environment happens while the route is being built, not separately - the child plans the marble's path and names the goal it has to reach.
The board stands outdoors whatever the season, so its steel frame is protected by galvanising and a powder coating. The printed board is covered with a UV-resistant varnish: moisture does not smudge it, and the colours do not fade after a season in full sun. The equipment's documentation includes a declaration of conformity and a certificate from an accredited body, and the product itself is covered by a warranty. The manufacturer is EduPlayground, and the board is made in Poland.
A group works at one board
The board is wide enough for several children to stand at it at once, and in the double-sided version groups work on both sides of the frame. One points, another answers, a third adds a piece - the task is solved through conversation, not in silence.
A detail you have to look for
The tasks on the board are about finding details, comparing and spotting differences. The board stays in the same place, so the child looks back at it as many times as they need - and practises concentration and careful looking along the way.
It works without a teacher too
The board stands ready: there is no need to set it up, carry it out of the classroom or put it away after lessons. Children come up to it on their own - at break, while waiting to be collected by a parent or during free play in the garden - and play whatever they see on the panel.
What the marble's route is made of
Four elements: magnetic tracks, marbles, a steel board and the set that comes with the board.
Magnetic wooden tracks
The tracks attach to the board with a magnet and can be arranged in any order, so one group gets the marble to its goal by a short route and another by a long, winding one. Moving one section takes a moment, and the whole plan of the route changes with it.
Wooden marbles
The marble tests the route plan: it either reaches the end or stops on a section that turned out too flat. The next run starts straight away, because all you have to do is pick up the marble and release it again from the top track.
Steel board with an ecology theme
The whole surface of the board is steel, so a track can be attached just as well near the top edge as just above the bottom one. The ecology-themed graphic stays visible beneath the tracks and hints at what the task is about.
S03-A Set of Wooden Tracks and Marbles
The board comes with one set of wooden tracks and marbles. After the lesson, the pieces are taken off the board or left in a finished layout - the next group then starts from someone else's route and rebuilds it their own way.
Personalisation
Board with its own graphics and colour
Ready-made panel designs do not always cover the topic your setting is working on. Personalisation does not change the board's construction or installation method, only its look and the content visible on the panel.
Board graphics
The board graphics are designed to order, on a chosen theme: an original curriculum, the setting's patron, an ecology project or a map of the local area.
Layout of content and tasks
The scope of the design, the layout of the content and the tasks to go on the board are agreed with an adviser.
Colour
The colour of the frame can be adapted to order - a frequent request. The scope of the change is agreed with an adviser. Standard colour according to the product data sheet: green (RAL 6018).
Before the board goes into the playground, our adviser will help you plan all the technical details. We are with you at every stage of the project, sharing our knowledge and experience so that the equipment serves children as well as possible for many years.
