Eight wooden bars
Eight bars of exotic wood form a single row, and each answers with a different note. Playing them in order gives an ordered series of notes; jumping between bars gives a melody of the child's own that nobody dictated.

Musical and sensory panels
The M07 Xylophone is a piece of outdoor musical equipment with wooden bars hung on cables in a steel frame. Struck with a beater, each bar answers with its own note: children play single notes, run along the whole row and tap out rhythms. It works well in nurseries, schools, therapy practices and public spaces.
Product description
It all starts with a single strike: the beater hits a bar, the wood begins to vibrate, the vibration pushes air particles, and a sound wave reaches the eardrum. That is why the same bar sounds different when struck in the middle and right at the edge. Played in order, the bars form a ladder from the lowest note to the highest. Where does an instrument like this come from? The xylophone appeared around the 14th century in South-East Asia, and its older relatives - the West African balafon and the gambang of the Indonesian gamelan - have had wooden bars for centuries. The name says the same: Greek ‘xylon’ means wood, ‘phone’ means sound.
For the same note to keep sounding for years, the instrument has to withstand rain, frost and sun. The bars are made of impregnated wood, prepared for permanent outdoor use, and the steel frame is galvanised and powder-coated, so the xylophone for children works in a nursery, school or hotel playground all year round and does not disappear for the winter. The equipment is covered by a warranty, and the manufacturer is EduPlayground - the xylophone is made in Poland.
The xylophone works well even where other instruments would be too loud: close to residential buildings, by classroom windows or in a therapy practice. Music outdoors then doesn't have to mean complaints from the neighbours.
Telling notes apart is work for the ear and attention at once: the child has to hear that two sounds are not the same, and remember which was higher. The same hearing is at work later in learning to speak and read, where small differences in sound matter.
At the xylophone there is no sheet music to read and no wrong order - any sequence of bars is good if the child likes it. Thanks to this simplicity, the xylophone is often the first instrument on which a child makes up a melody of their own instead of playing someone else's.
Four elements - some make the sound, others let it ring out.
Eight bars of exotic wood form a single row, and each answers with a different note. Playing them in order gives an ordered series of notes; jumping between bars gives a melody of the child's own that nobody dictated.
Each bar hangs on a cable, and stainless steel does not corrode, so the fixing withstands rain and frost season after season.
A beater with a rubber coating is included, so playing can start as soon as it is installed. Held loosely, it bounces off the bar, and that is when the note sounds clearest. To hit the chosen bar, the child has to coordinate eye and hand and judge the force.
A closed steel profile forms the frame in which the whole row of bars hangs. Anchored in the ground, the structure stands firm with every strike, does not wobble and does not need putting away after lessons - the instrument stays in the playground permanently.
